Volunteer Program
Hands-On Work. Real Results for Birmingham.
Building Change connects volunteer groups with homeowners and community spaces in need of repairs, cleanup, and physical improvements. If your team wants to put in real work and leave a neighborhood visibly better, this is how you do it.
What to Know Before You Register
Building Change is designed for groups of all sizes, from small teams to large corporate volunteer days. Projects are matched to your crew's capacity, and Magic City ToolBank supplies the equipment so you can focus on the work itself.
Team Size
Groups of 10 to 100 or more are welcome. We work with you to match the right project to the size of your crew so every volunteer has something meaningful to do.
Cost
There is no cost to participate for registered nonprofits and community organizations. Corporate groups may be asked to make a modest contribution that helps cover tool inventory and project coordination.
Tools Provided
Magic City ToolBank supplies all necessary equipment for your project. Volunteers do not need to bring tools. Show up ready to work and we will have everything on site.
Time Commitment
Most Building Change projects run four to eight hours on a single day. Scheduling is flexible and planned well in advance so your group can coordinate attendance without hassle.
Our Partners
Building Change works alongside neighborhood associations, housing nonprofits, and civic organizations across Birmingham. These partnerships help us identify the right projects and put volunteer energy exactly where it is needed most.
